This policy describes how Promptly ("we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Promptly iOS app and the usepromptly.app website. Promptly is operated by an individual developer; questions can be sent to support@usepromptly.app.
Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address. If you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email and (optionally) name they share. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
Profile information: Display name and profile photo if you add them yourself in the Account tab.
Video content: When you upload a clip for editing, we store the original video and the rendered output in our secure cloud storage so you can re-play or re-edit later. Only you can access your own uploads and renders.
Voice input: When you use the microphone to dictate a vibe prompt, on-device speech recognition (Apple Speech framework) transcribes the audio. The audio itself is not transmitted to our servers — only the resulting text.
Chat messages: The text prompts you send to the in-app assistant are sent to our server and to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate a reply. Conversations are saved to your account so you can reload chats across sessions.
Usage data: We log when you dispatch a render or send a chat message so we can enforce the daily limits on the free tier (3 renders/day, 50 chats/day). We do not track which other apps you use or any cross-app behavior.
Subscription data: Purchase transactions and entitlement status are handled by Apple's StoreKit and RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status (Pro vs. free, trial end date) but not your payment details.
Diagnostic data: If the app crashes or hits an error, we collect anonymized crash reports through Sentry to fix bugs. No video content or personal messages are included in crash reports.
Push tokens: If you allow notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification Service token so we can notify you when a render is finished.
Each is bound by their own privacy and data-processing terms and is contractually limited to processing data on Promptly's behalf for the purposes above.
We retain your account, uploaded videos, finished renders, and chat history for as long as your account is active. Delete an edit from the Library tab and it's removed from storage. Delete your account by emailing support@usepromptly.app and we'll permanently erase your data within 30 days.
Promptly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe we have, email support@usepromptly.app and we'll delete the data.
You can access, update, or delete your personal data at any time:
If you live in a region with specific privacy rights (EEA, UK, California, etc.), you have all rights granted by your local law — same email address, no questions asked.
If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
